When I first heard about Snapchat, it sounded like a new way for teenagers to post racy pictures and avoid fear of those pictures haunting them years later because the pictures get deleted after a few seconds. One of our class assignments this week was to explore different web tools and Snapchat was on the list. I initially wanted to avoid Snapchat but thought it might be worth a try.
It appears that Snapchat is not just for those trying to figure out how to send discreet pictures, but it also offers content. Users can check out and create stories to share with friends. A number of major companies also post content through the "Discover" section. I checked out a story about the best foods to eat at every age. By simply pressing my finger on the story, I could share the content with my Snapchat friends.
Even though it is refreshing to know that Snapchat has more than one use, let's be honest...the face filters feature is fun! You can simply take a selfie and try out all kinds of face filters. These filters include things from customized logos to turning your face into a bumblebee or some other distorted image. Some of the filters are absolutely ridiculous, but the process of trying them out is really fun and a great way to see yourself differently! (Hint: I totally love my crown of flowers!)
Hi Chandra! Great picture. I like you, really like the filters on Snapchat. In fact I spent some time this weekend with my son just playing with the different filters. It was so fun. Nice blog! I really like the colors. - Dorsey
